Trust Preoperative Assessment Policy (aligned to NICE NG45) Purpose: ensure patients are fit and ready before elective surgery. Prerequisites to be documented before a patient proceeds to theatre: 1. Renal function assessed; eGFR must be 30 mL/min/1.73m2 or above. 2. Valid signed surgical consent on file. 3. Pre-operative assessment completed by the pre-op clinic. 4. Anaesthetic review completed for the planned procedure. 5. Full blood count (FBC) taken for major surgery. Any missing item holds the patient until resolved. Final go decision requires clinician sign-off. (Synthetic policy for testing — INV-7.)
